Welcome to my journey!

Let me take you back to 2020, I’m sure you all remember 2020.

My husband and I got married in 2019 and spent our first year anniversay stuck in the middle of lockdown.

We were living in a townhouse and working from home full time. Suddenly that townhouse got VERY small. So we decided to take advantage of the market (before it got insane!) and bought our forever home!

Fastforward a few months and my husband got promptly laid off. Nothing like starting out life in your new home with a layoff. What we didn’t know was that layoff was going to last a full year. A full year of stress and not knowing what the future will bring.

Once he got a new job that is where everythign started to go sideways. We had spent a year of not living and suddenly we needed everything. Spending like no tomorrow we consolidated loans and then consolidated them again. We sold a car, got another loan and then our bathroom sprung a leak. So we went to another loan, with another (shorter) layoff and here we are now. Living paycheck to paycheck paying off loans and 0% interest credit cards.

2024 is quickly approaching and I have no idea what it will bring. All I know is that we have more expenses in 2024 piling up than we can afford so the buck stops here, quite literally and figuratively.

So this is day one, my day to reclaim my life back and set up myself for the future. I hope you will join me and we will all learn something along the way.
